The PathoMap project studying the metagenome and microbiome of the New York City subway system has now been transmitted to cities around the world! The MetaSUB project encompasses this larger initiative to study the world’s urban built environment and subway systems.
The project is being led by Christopher Mason, Ebrahim Afshinnekoo, and Sofia Ahsanuddin. Preliminary results were published in 2015.
